A Few On-Site Activities

Mostly we like to think of Mountain Springs as a place just to kick back, relax and re-group.

We don’t have many regularly schedule activities, though if we know your group would like to have something planned, just let us know and we will be glad to make it happen.

We have a spacious recreation area with playground, volleyball, tetherball, soccer, badminton, horseshoe pits and a large picnic pavilion for cookouts and gatherings.

We do have mountainside hiking trails, though a past flood has taken out our bridge and we are not sure when we will be able to get a new one built, but you are welcome to “ford the creek” to get to the trails.

You may want to bring your fishing gear. Brown Speckled Trout & Rainbow Trout are plentiful in the stream. (Check out fishing to see some of our guests with their “Catch of the Day.”) Or we are happy to hook you up with "Brookside Guides" if you want a guide to come pick you up and take you out for a day of lessons, or try out some of our better rivers in the area.

We do keep play equipment on hand to check out as well as fishing poles, tubes for the stream, ice cream makers and other odd and ends like daypacks, travel chairs, picnic baskets and coolers for you to borrow. There is no charge to use any of these items, but we do ask that they be properly checked out and returned on time and in the same condition they left in.

We keep plenty of popcorn and videos in the office for those who just want to have a quiet evening in or for a rainy afternoon... and every cabin has plenty of books (as well as a good stock in the office) for those who might just want to laze about in a hammock by the stream and read and snooze. (What a novel idea!)

You might also want to take a look at the Grounds Tour to get a better idea of our layout. We do have a “Property Map” thought it leaves a lot to the imagination.
